What do Town Councils and County Commission Do, and Why Should I Vote in Local Elections?

  • Oakland Presbyterian Church - Fellowship Hall , 8927 Cleveland Road Clayton, NC, 27520 United States (map)

The decisions of our elected local officials directly impact our lives. Yet
many of us are not clear on what these local officials do and why it is so
important to vote in local elections. That’s why the League of Women
Voters of Johnston County is hosting a non-partisan forum to educate
voters about the duties and responsibilities of JoCo Town Councils and
County Commissions.

This educational event is free and open to the public. It is not
affiliated with any political candidate or party.

Panel:
Rebecca Bradford, LWV Johnston County, Voter Services Chair
Kim Lawter, Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director
Leigh Anne Price, Johnston County Board of Election, Director
Clyde Castleberry, Archer Lodge Town Council
Butch Lawter, Clayton Town Council
