You are invited to a virtual event with Dr. Jen Mangrum, our Democratic Candidate for State Superintendent, and author and education historian, Diane Ravitch on Thursday, June 25th from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Special guests for the evening are Justin Parmenter, a seventh-grade language arts teacher at Waddell Language Academy in Charlotte, Stu Egan, an English Teacher in the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County School System, and Diane Ravitch, the former Assistant U.S. Secretary of Education and Founder and President of the Network for Public Education.

In Diane's new book, Slaying Goliath: The Passionate Resistance to Privatization and the Fight to Save America's Public Schools, she draws attention to the General Assembly's intent to destroy public education and credits Justin and Stu for their speaking out against these efforts right here in North Carolina.
