Our YDJC Chapter is organizing another toy drive on behalf of Johnston Lee Harnett Community Action - a nonprofit based in Smithfield that serves children on Head Start in our three counties.

Between now and Friday, 12/16 at 6:00 PM, please consider purchasing a toy or two for a child in need and bringing it to our JCDP-Clayton Office. The office will be open on Fridays from 12/2-12/16 between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Kindly email franchd14@gmail.com or call 919-798-6481 to arrange your delivery. Fridays work best but other times can be arranged with advance notice. Our JCDP-Clayton Office is located at 401 East Main Street, Suite 202, Clayton, NC 27520. 

Marie Watson, Executive Director of JLHCA, told us middle schoolers usually do not receive as many appropriate gifts, so consider visiting a local small business in Johnston County to purchase a toy or book. Popular items for middle schoolers according to our outstanding local educators are Uno, Jenga, and Connect 4, which can be purchased for around $8.00.
