The YDNC Rural Caucus is planning a Rural Day of Service on Saturday, December 11th. Our YDJC chapter will conduct a toy drive for Johnston Lee Harnett Community Action - a nonprofit based in Smithfield that serves children in Head Start in our three counties.
Between now and Saturday, 12/11, please consider purchasing a toy for a child in need and bringing it to JCDP-Clayton office between 9:00AM and 5:00PM, Monday-Friday located at:
401 East Main St., Suite 200
Clayton, NC 27520
Marie Watson, Executive Director of JLHCA, said middle schoolers usually do not receive as many appropriate gifts, so consider visiting a local small business in Johnston County to purchase a toy or book. Popular items for middle schoolers per a local educator are Uno, Jenga, and Connect 4, which can be purchased for around $8.00. Thank you for helping spread joy during the holiday season!
