We are embarking on our 10th year of serving our county and surrounding areas with our Community Back to School Youth Explosion which will take place on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Clayton High School, 600 S. Fayetteville Street, Clayton, NC from 2:00-5:00 pm. Over the past few years, especially after the pandemic, we have experienced an increased demand for backpacks and school supplies for our students. Our committee is made up of civic organizations, businesses, churches and concerned citizens. No contribution is too small or too large.

As in years past, we will provide over 1200 backpacks with school supplies, haircuts and hair braiding, hot dogs and trimmings. We anticipate the participation of UNC Health Bus, Johnston County Health Department and other agencies offering services to our students and families. We are seeking financial contributions, school supplies and other volunteer services to include stuffing the backpacks, distribution of backpacks and hair service providers.

We have already started purchasing backpacks and other school supplies. If requested, we can provide a tax statement for your tax deductible donations.
