DWJC Monthly Meeting

  • St. Paul's Episcopal Church 218 South 2nd Street Smithfield, NC, 27577 United States (map)

This month, our featured speakers will be Dawn Blagrove, Director, and Tessa Hale, Assistant Director, from the Carolina Justice Policy Center. They are dedicated to empowering North Carolinians to create effective, equitable and humane solutions to criminal justice problems. This is a presentation you definitely won't want to miss!

"The Carolina Justice Policy Center is embarking on an issue driven GOTV campaign centered around educating voting populations on important criminal justice issues, specifically, mass incarceration, the over use of the death penalty, and building strong policies around raising the age. Our campaign involves educating voters on the issues, the current state of the issue in their community, and most importantly the stance of candidates on these issues. The goal is to increase the turnout of well informed and educated voters with the potential to help align elected officials with the ideology and criminal justice reform policies important to the community in which the voter lives. The presentation also includes basic information on voting education."

Our meetings are open to the public, so even if you're new to the area or to the Party, we'd love for you to come check us out! We even have snacks!!

You don't even have to RSVP for the monthly meeting - we know you will want to be there!
